Child rapist commits suicide in police station
Increasing rate of child rape includes another suicide case, in which the rapists tries to run away from his committed crime.
An alleged child rapist committed suicide on Wednesday in a jail in the city’s Akbari Gate police station, police confirmed.
As per police, Zeeshan was taken into custody a day earlier and a first information report (FIR) had been filed against him on behalf of the minor boy’s father, Muhammad Qazzafi.
According to police, Zeeshan hanged himself in the bathroom with a piece of cloth.
Ashfaq Khan, the deputy inspector-general (DIG) of police for operations, reached Akbari Gate police station and ordered an investigation into the matter.
Forensic samples were collected from the scene of the suicide and the body was sent for post-mortem, police said.
