US calls upon Pakistan to let Masood Azhar be placed on UN terror list

Masoon Azhar

Azhar, the chief of Jaish-e-Muhammad has been included in the UN Terror list by the US on Wednesday after China lifted its objections to move. Jaish-e-Muhammad took the responsibility for the 14th February attack in Kashmir that killed 40 Indian Troops and further provoked the tension between India and Pakistan.

China previously blocked three attempts to blacklist Azhar in the past. It is said that however strong India-US partnership would be, the US would still need Pakistan’s help in solving their issues with Afghanistan.

Tensions between these neighbouring countries i.e India and Pakistan have grown thick since the February attack, raising the terrors of conflict between two nuclear armed neighbours.
