Pakistani startup Safepay raises funding from techno company Stripe

Pakistani startup Safepay has raised funding from techno company Stripe.

SaefPay is a Pakistani startup that was founded in 2019 by two partners Mr. Ziyad Parekh and Mr. Raza Naqvi. Its aim was to provide digital payments solutions for Pakistani merchants.

Now this startup has managed to get funding from global financial technology platform company STRIPE and others. This funding is in seven figures. However the exact amount was not revealed by the company that they secured from local and international investors.

In 2019 the company launched its beta product and were easily able to attract around 300 Pakistani merchants that started availing their digital services.

Mr. Noah Pepper (Stripe’s business lead for the Asia Pacific)  shared “The Safepay team’s solutions will be an important contribution to the future of Pakistan’s economy. We love backing founders who really know their markets and have the vision to help local businesses. Their commitment to increase digital payments in Pakistan will become even more vital as Pakistan continues to pursue a fully digital economy and increases its role in global trade.”
