Nawaz to go back to jail as bail expires
Pakistan’s Former President, Nawaz Shareef returns back to jail on Tuesday, 7th May after the expiry of his six weeks bail. He surrendered to the higher authorities of jail after Iftar as reported by the Geo News.
The court had rejected a petition by the PMLN leader Nawaz Shareef to extend his bail which was granted to him on 26thy March on medical grounds.
Nawaz Shareef has been serving a seven-year term of prison at Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore since 24th December, 2018 when the court convicted him in corruption reference of Al Aziziya Steel Mills.
Shareef arrived at the prison in a rally which was led by his daughter Maryam Nawaz. She led a solidarity March of party workers from their residence in Jati Umra to the jail.
