Hafiz Saeed arrested by CTD
In a recent attempt of crack down against the outlawed organizations, the Chief of Jaamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Mr. Hafiz Saeed was arrested near Gujranwala by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab on Wednesday. The arrests are a part of implementation of National Action Plan and its relevant actions.
He was travelling from Lahore to Gujranwala for an appearance before the anti-terrorism court and was taken into custody at that moment.
He has several cases pending against him. The recent arrest is related to illegal funds generated by JuD from banned sources. He was later presented in anti-terrorism court and then sent to prison.
