KP CM proposes Sept 15 for local bodies elections
After Punjab, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is also going to hold local bodies elections this year. The KP government has proposed the 15th September date for holding the elections but it is not finalized yet. The schedule for Punjab and KP will be finalized by the Election commission Pakistan, in meetings planned in February for each province, keeping their proposed dates in view. According to sources, ECP has given 15 days deadline to the KP government to provide a date along with all other necessary documents.
In the past week, ECP conducted a meeting, under the supervision of the Chief Election Commissioner to review the preparations for conducting the elections. The meeting was attended by representatives of both provinces, Punjab and KP to review the preparations.
