‘The Berlin Patient’ dies of cancer
Timothy Ray Brown, whowas famous for being known as ”The Berlin Patient’ dies of cancer at the age of fifty four (54).
He was living in Berlin and the first person to be cured of HIV. Brown was diagnosed with both HIV and leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells.
His cancer was diagnosed in 2006 after that he started receiving treatment for both ailments. Brown received radiation therapy and a bone marrow transplant in 2007; the goal of the treatment was to kill the existing cancer in his body and jumpstart production of healthy white blood cells, which are generated in the bone marrow.
In 2007, he was fully cured of HIV and remained to be free of this virus till death.
Brown struggled a lot against his battle with cancer however died at last from it. He will be remembered as a champ in the medical history.
