COAS Qamar Bajwa appointed for another three years
General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been appointed as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff for another three years.
According to the notification issued by the Prime Minister office dated 19-Aug-2019,
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure. The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,”.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed Pakistan’s Army chief in November 2016 by then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif. He took over command from former Army chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif.
