Fawad Chaudry launches Hijri Calendar

The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Fawad Chaudry launches the country’s first Hijri Calendar along with Moon Sighting website.

According to details the lunar calendar has been prepared to deal with the moon sighting every year, that has conflicts and issues associated with it by different groups across the country. It is designed to cater for the next five years.

He shared that the calendar is based on scientific calculations and requirements and is an effort of various departments.

“I personally believe that there is no need for the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in the country. In this era, science has done wonders and this calendar and website is an effort to solve the differences in moon sighting across the country“, he added.

In the mean while this calendar was also forwarded to the Islamic Council for Ideology and will be presented during cabinet session on coming Wednesday.
