Usman Qadir playing for Australia instead of Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2020
Dreaming of playing international cricket and achieving it in your life is a thing everyone should aim for. Usman Qadir is one of the young cricketers who achieved his dream. He decided to play for Australia and not for his birth place- Pakistan.
Usman Qadir is the son of Pakistan’s former spin-legend Abdul Qadir. To the answer why he intends to play against his own country, he replies: “I didn’t get much chance in Pakistan.” It is not too surprising because he only got eight first-class matches in Pakistan during the time period of 2013 – 2015.
After playing in Big Bash League and first-class cricket for Western Australia, Usman now eyes on wearing the Australian jersey in 2020 T20 World Cup.
He further said: “I am getting proper chances to show my skills unlike here where I had to sit on the bench.”
The 25 year old cricketer also paid his regards to the PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars, who helped him get initial contacts in Australia.
