Pakistan approves covid-19 vaccine AstraZeneca for emergency purposes
On Saturday 16th January, Pakistan’s Health minister has approved the usage of covid-19 vaccine AstraZeneca for emergency purposes. The vaccine is developed at AstraZeneca which is a British-Swedish multinational Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Company, by a team of scientists from Oxford University.
The health workers and people 65 years old or above will be given priority for vaccination. The government claims to ensure the availability of the vaccine till March 2021.
The china-made vaccine Sinopharm is also under trial at the drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). The health ministry of Pakistan has approved to get more than a million doses of that vaccine.
