Govt. establishes directorate to curb currency smuggling
The federal government has established a directorate to repress smuggling of foreign currency, according to a notification that was issued on Thursday. The director of the Cross-border Currency Movement would work under the Customs Intelligence.
Reports would be prepared by them concerning the suspicious transactions and smuggling of currency. The directorate would also investigate about money laundering cases and put forward their report to the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU).
If this works well, Pakistan will have a good amount of money from being smuggled and the economic crisis can be lowered.
