Punjab announced closure of Educational institutions on Friday

The Punjab Government has announced closure of all educational institutions throughout the province tomorrow (Friday).

The decision was made on the recommendation of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order.  Several protests were observed against the rape of female student at PCC campus in Lahore.

According to the spokesman, the protection of students in educational institutions across the province is the government’s responsibility.  He said that students’ future could be at stake due to protests and disruptive activities in the wake of the imposition of Section 144.

Following the recommendation of the Home Department, the Provincial Departments of School Education and Higher Education have issued a notification in this regard.
