Chairman FPSC Maroof Afzal dies of covid-19
Chairman Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Maroof Afzal died of coronavirus here on Thursday.
He was tested positive of COVID-19 a week ago and then was under treatment.
Maroof Afzal was recently appointed Chairman FPSC on November 13, but could not take the oath due to coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Afzal had retired from Pakistan Administrative Service in grade 22 and had served on key positions including Secretary Establishment, Secretary Cabinet etc. He was ex-chairman of CDA.
At the age of 16, Arfa Karim was studying in her second year of A Levels when she suffered from cardiac arrest after an epileptic seizure on December 22, 2011 and was admitted to Lahore s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition. On January 9, 2012, Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft, made contact with Arfa s parents, and directed his doctors to adopt every kind of measure for her treatment. On January 14, 2012, Arfa Karim died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore. Vociferous and fiercely loyal to her party, Fauzia Wahab was the most vocal supporter of Pakistan Peoples Party even during the worst times in Pakistani politics. She held many key positions in the PPP and was considered a close aide of Benazir Bhutto.
